Originally hailing from Portishead - Steve Rothery started mixing over 10 years ago, introducing himself to DJ'ing by spinning jungle and drum 'n' bass cuts at parties around Bristol and Bath. By 1996 Steve discovered his true love of house music which he has continued to mix since then.
Steve successfully ran Fusion in Birmingham from 1997-2001 promoting events and warming up the decks by playing the best in funky house before such names as Brandon Block, Alex P, Sonique, the late Tony De Vit and John Kelly. Steve also started Fusion's infamous boat parties sailing down the River Severn every summer for each seasons finale. Fusion also ran coach trips to some of the best clubs in the country at the time….Ministry of Sound, Cream, Gatecrasher, Turnmills, Passion.
Since moving to London Steve has played at a variety of venues including Pacha, Egg, The Cross, Turnmills, Brixton Academy, Hidden, Sin
Steve has played for the following promoters in London - SW4, Electric Gardens, Puscha, Space, Gliteratti, Prologue, Pukka Up, Menage a Trois, Sundazed, Mannequin, Hot n Spicy, Plush da Funk
Steve is a promoter and resident for the Roast events, alongside Oli Smiles and Greg Smiles - including Sunday Roast at Inigo, Clapham - on the 1st Sunday of every month – see www.roast.me.uk for details
Steve was a resident for 18 month at the infamous Super Sundays (Voted No 2 in Metro for "Best Sunday Clubs in London") at Oblivion, Clapham and has played at SW4 launch party and after-party at Brixton Academy alongside Sasha and Carl Cox.
Steve plays either dirty electro and breaks or funky french-influenced house depending on the set – he is definitely a party DJ who loves going mental to the tunes as much as anyone in the crowd.
